Book review

Soren, a mormon, dies and goes to a personalized Hell, in his case an infinite (to be debated) library. Escape is possible, but the only way to do it is to find the book that describes his life story. The library is basically the Library of Babel, based on a short story by Jorge Luis Borges, it contains every book that is possible to write with the Roman alphabet and some symbols. The premise was super interesting to me because I've always loved numbers, number theory, and philosophical currents like existentialism and determinism, so this seemed right up my alley. And it was, I finished it in a couple of days.

What I loved about it is that it forces you to imagine orders and magnitudes that are kind of incomprehensible for us. Our brains can't understand large numbers and stretches of time, but through little steps the story acquaints you with the vastness of the library... (continue reading)
